Media release 4 August 2009 Demand for property solutions opens market opportunity.
A troubled property sector is yielding opportunities for developers with experience in project recovery, says McConnell Property chief operating officer Martin Daniels.
McConnell Property is expanding its development management services business as demand for project rescues and redevelopments rises, he says.
A recent example is the appointment, by Point Ridge Land Limited, of McConnell Property to manage the delivery of remaining stages of the Point Ridge project in Albany.
Point Ridge Land Limited has received approval to purchase the site from developer Urban Developments Ltd, and intends to immediately re-commence development of the project. Point Ridge is a gated community on Gills Road overlooking the Albany Town Centre.
Mr Daniels says McConnell Property’s experience in all stages of development has led to a number of approaches from key players in troubled developments.
The company not only developed its own projects but was expanding its service capability in the development management area to enable it to pick up partially-completed projects and carry them through to completion.
These services included feasibility or portfolio reviews and risk management as well as project and asset management, and property marketing and sales.
“We anticipate a continued increase in demand for professional development management services across the sector as property owners and funders consider options in the current environment.”
