Urban design award winners

Hamilton’s PwC Centre and Titanium Park Stage 1 have been recognised at the Property Council’s ‘We Are Waikato’ awards announced on Wednesday night.

McConnell Property took out the Urban Design and Architectural Merit category awards for its outstanding contribution towards the development of the two projects. The award acknowledges project teams who have contributed to a more inspiring, innovative and wealthier Waikato.

Hamilton attracting Auckland business

Auckland businesses are increasingly looking to set up shop in Hamilton.

Hamilton City Council's events and economic development general manager Sean Murray said there was a "definite move" by Auckland businesses to relocate or expand to Hamilton.

He was aware of up to four Auckland enterprises actively looking at Hamilton but believed the total number was much higher. "This drift is real and it's not to say businesses don't like Auckland.
