Kate started at McConnell Property at the end of 2009 after returning from two years living, working and travelling in the UK and Europe.

While living in London Kate worked at CB Richard Ellis as a registered valuer in the Investment Valuation Team. The main function of this team is to provide portfolio valuations for institutional and property companies.

Prior to travelling, back in New Zealand Kate worked at Colliers International in Wellington, as a valuer undertaking a range of valuations, rental assessments and negotiations, research and consultancy assignments across a range of property types. Property types included existing and developing commercial, industrial, residential apartments, land and student accommodation.

While at Colliers Kate was also the secretary of the Wellington Branch of the Property Institute

Since working at McConnell Kate has been involved in commercial based projects including the preliminary design and plan change process for a town centre, working with potential tenant’s for a design build industrial subdivision and a large hotel development in Queenstown.

Kate’s roles within hotel development are FF & E procurement, F & B design and co-ordination, identification potential amenity and hotel service providers and administration of consultant’s invoices. FF & E procurement involves working with interior designers and FF & E procurement consultants to procure FF & E for the hotel development that meets operator standards and budget.
